When it comes to keeping our skin healthy, beauty products can be our best friends for both cosmetics junkie always on top of the latest trends and minimalists who likes to stick with a few trusted basics.
I met many holy-grail items that not only cut down on time getting ready, but also restore skin to its smooth and glowy state; and also came across some that does not really worth our time and money the ones. Here is my advice on choosing the right ones for your skin and daily regimen.
Worthy List
Be sure to check them out, they are staples in my beauty arsenal.
KIEHL'S Caledula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner
I would say I have moderate-severe acne so my skin is quite sensitive and for a long time, I stayed away from toners because everyone that I used either felt hazy on my face or led to breakouts.
This toner does not leave the sticky feel like the other non-alcohol toners leave, but it does not dry out my skin like the alcohol ones: it soothes my combination skin without making it feel dry or oily. It is light, goes on easy and has done a great job of locking in moisture and protecting my skin. It goes on a little watery and dries within 20 seconds. After that, I follow up with a moisturizer and go on with my day. No breakouts, no clogs, nothing heavy on my face.
My face starts to feel fresh and clear and pimples start to disappear after months' use. However, it is not really effective in improving skin texture or tone over time. Thereby, it makes the price a bit too high.
Another best thing about this product is the tea-like smell which everyone mentioned; the real flower petals in the bottle is a nice touch as well, it definitely enhances the luxury experience of using this toner.
Negative points: I find the price of this product is not entirely justified for its raw material is not pricey at all.
Tonique Confort is an example of a moisturizing toner. It has really nice velvety texture, almost like a serum, or a watery lotion and you need just a little bit to cover the whole face. The instantly soothing formula made with Honey and Sweet Almond Extract gives skin a soft, fresh, clean and comfortable feeling.
My skin tends to get quite dry during harsh winters, and this tonic is one of the best for those conditions. For summer, if it is really hot and my skin becomes more combinational-to-oily, I can get away with using this toner instead of moisturizer.
Would I buy it again? Most likely yes. Even though it costs arm and leg, it lasts forever, and does calm down my sensitive skin prone to dryness.

Negative points: Boy, it is strongly scented. You can smell me from a mile away.
Maybelline Eye Lip Makeup Remover
Before using it, you have to shake the bottle to mix the two liquid to make the remover work. You do not have to put too much pressure on your gentle eye area to remove the makeup. Just leave the cotton swab for 30 seconds or so and then swipe. After one swipe, most of the eye liner and mascara can be removed.
It works well with water proof products. If your mascara or lipstick is very stubborn, you might have to repeat the cleaning process a few times but it cleans every last trace of makeup. After removing the makeup, the oil part of the makeup remover leaves the eyes nourished and moisturized.
Plus, it is not recommended for face makeup so you should have a separate makeup remover for face.
Jurlique Rose Hand Cream
I absolutely love this moisturiser. It leaves my skin feeling completely nourished and starting the day with that beautiful burst of rose invigorates me both inside and out.
Yes, rose bushes envy my scent. Do not get me wrong, the scent is lovely, just very overpowering. I like it, although I would not recommend it for someone who does not like that particular scent.
The product delivers exactly what is advertised, it is really rich, very emollient and penetrating whilst feeling light on the skin, suitable for my sensitive skin, gives a refreshed dewy not greasy look. It's expensive, but a small amount spreads a long way making the 40ml tube last and last ideal size for travel. It competes well with more expensive products.
Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum
Derived from green tea and green tea seed oil, the fresh green tea deeply hydrates your skin and the green tea seed oil creates a strong moisture barrier to keep your skin moisturized longer.
I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed after using this product. It provides good hydration but really, other than that it does not seem to have many other benefits. Yet despite not having a multitude of skincare properties I have come to expect from Korean products, I actually really enjoy using this serum for the texture and how it makes my skin feel.
Taking a look at the ingredients, alcohol is listed fourth and it bothers me a little bit since I can scent out alcohol.
Not-Worthy List
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
One of the main ingredients that catches my attention is sodium lauryl sulfate, which is a surfactant, meaning it releases oil and dirt from the skin and creates that foamy texture we enjoy so much. The problem is that SLS can be stripping for dry skins and it can also be an irritant. I have talked about SLS before, and my number one recommendation for irritated skin is stop using products that contain SLS.
Mistine Milky Cleansing Facial Lotion
When choosing which makeup remover is best, we always look for three main characteristics: It takes off everything in one swoop, it will not clog pores and will not leave gross, oily residue.
I went with the crowd and bought this product several years ago and found myself blinded by its hype and exaggerates.
As you can see in the picture, it just cannot completely take off the color.
Rosette Cleansing Paste
I am on the fence about this product. it is smooth and feels really good and all the pores are super clean after use. Yet it is said it is a moist cleansing but after I used it I feel my skin is dry, feels like I am using a cheap bar soap to clean my face.
AHC Private Real Eye Cream for Face
PROS: It is not only can be used as regular eye cream but also for whole face.
CONS: This eye cream is said to give rapid and wonderful solutions. It is formulated from the use of natural ingredients which work well without causing any adverse side effects to the skin. However, it does not work well for me. It just did not do anything to my under-eye area. It has sticky feeling, it sits on the skin without absorption and it is a little rich for summer and oily skin.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist
I wanted to love this. It smelt nice at first - the rose scent was overwhelming in a good way (no doubt boosted by the fragrance added in addition to the rosewater) - but once the scent wore off, it was like having a perfume with only a top note and no base or heart.
what is this supposed to do? It is supposed to be multi-benefit lightweight mist that hydrates and balances the complexion, naturally sets makeup, and refreshes the skin and senses" While there are some nice things about this product, it is quite an expensive and frivolous item.
The actives don't begin until the third ingredient - and the chemically after-smell makes me think that the concentrations are very low.
That's it for today, hope my user experience can give you some reference.
