Huawei has made some superb smartphones this year, with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro being one of the standout devices on the market. And going an extra mile to double down in the smart watch area with its proprietary OS, the Chinese giant shows that it’s serious about wearables as well.

Design
The physical design of the Watch GT isn’t inspired. It just looks kind of generic. Huawei said it used a classic design and the aesthetic certainly is very familiar. Its big, masculine-looking stainless steel case and ceramic bezel feel nice. In other words, it looks like a regular round analog watch. That said, it’s reasonably attractive, though it definitely looks like many smartwatches you’ll have seen on the market before.

Display & Build Quality
Measuring in at 10.6 mm and featuring a double crown AMOLED screen, it’s vibrant and slim.

The 1.39-inch AMOLED display is eye-catching: the 454×454 pixel, 326ppi panel is bright and sharp, making the bold colors on many of the available watch faces pop. Also, it is a touchscreen, which is relatively responsive as I flicked through apps and faces on the device’s proprietary Lite OS. Wrist motion wakes the display so you can check the time at intervals throughout the day too. It’s also worth pointing out how deceptively light the Watch GT is. Plus, the build quality is solid as with any Huawei product released in recent years.

Battery Life
The core selling point of this entire smartwatch package has to be the battery life. You can get up to two weeks of battery life and that is with constant heart rate tracking and upwards of two hours of exercise tracking per week. I believe that many competitors pale in comparison to what the Huawei Watch GT is capable of.
Other Features
GPS, a heart rate monitor and sleep tracking are on board, as well as an ambient light and air-pressure sensor, and they all help prop up a horde of exercise modes.

It offers more accurate, faster and precise positioning with modern GPS supports 3 Satellite Positioning Systems.
HUAWEI TruSeen™ 3.0 heartrate monitoring technology provides an efficient and accurate real-time personal measurement of heartrate by using a self-learning algorithm and innovative sensors.

A joint-study with Harvard Medical School CDB Centre produced a brilliant sleep monitor programme for every cycle of sleep. HUAWEI TruSleep™ 2.0 identifies common sleep related issues and provides more than 200 potential suggestions to help you sleep better.

Pros
Introducing the first double chipset architecture in the industry;
Equipped a battery that’s designed to last a whopping two weeks on a single charge, with heart-rate monitoring turned on.
The design and especially the comfort level is great. The display is exceptional, too.

Alcatel launched is a new budget device, the 1X. Although there is already a 1X launched by Alcatel itself in 2018, the newer one looks like a more aggressive and packs a beefier battery, dual camera unit, and a bigger screen with higher resolution. Although, apart from it, the processor and the software remains unchanged. To know more about the super affordable device, check out our complete review of the Alcatel 1X below. Design and Build The Design and Build quality of the Alcatel 1X is what you can expect at a price point of around $100.
