The S10 Pro is another entry-level budget device from the Chinese brand Ulefone. The main attraction about this device is the screen, good battery life and build quality. It comes with all the necessary features which you can ask from a budget device and does well in every aspect too. Check out our complete Ulefone S10 Pro review below.

Design and Build Quality

The Ulefone S10 Pro is an entry-level device which looks pretty decent in terms of appearance. It comes with a Glass-Like glossy back design except for the Gold color version which isn’t too glossy. Apart from that, the Black and the Auroreous looks much better and the Auroreous one does have a Gradient look to it much like expensive smartphones. Although, it’s simply plastic which feels smooth to touch and doesn’t collect too much Fingerprint smudges.
Talking about handling and usage, the Ulefone S10 Pro isn’t too big for single-handed usage. Also, the curved corners make it comfortable to hold as well. The S10 Pro isn’t too heavy either at 171 gram but it is quite thick at 9.7mm. Although, the thickness doesn’t make it hard to use the device and you can easily use the device for an extended period of time.
On the front, there is a notch which seems pretty big unlike the OnePlus 6. It houses an earpiece, front camera, and a proximity sensor. On the right side, there is a Power Key and the Volume Rocker while the left side is bare empty. Talking about empty, there is nothing at the bottom since the Headphone jack and MicroUSB charging port is at the top. On the back, there is the Dual Camera unit along with a Fingerprint scanner, mono speaker and the primary mic. Ulefone has gone too far with making the back removable giving access to the Dua-SIM slot, dedicated MicroSD card, and the battery, just like the old days.
Overall, the build quality and appearance is pretty good for the price lacking expensive features like an IP rating or Wireless charging.

Ulefone S10 Pro Display

Entry-Level devices usually have a low-res average quality screen which doesn’t look immersive no matter how big they are. Although, the Ulefone S10 sports a small display with HD resolution which provides sharp visuals unlike a device like Oukitel C12 Pro. It comes with a 5.7 inch 19:9 IPS LCD screen which has a resolution of 1498 x 720 pixels and has a notch up top. The screen does have a layer of 2.5D curved glass and the smartphone does ships with a screen protector which you can find in the box.
Well, the screen quality is pretty good compared to our previously reviewed Oukitel C12 Pro. The screen size is small and the resolution is high which makes the screen sharp and crisp. Also, the viewing angles on the Ulefone S10 Pro are good too except the sunlight visibility, which is average. We watched a couple of videos on YouTube and it turned out that the screen is surprisingly good. The bezels are slim too, although, the chin is a little bit bigger than what we liked. Apart from that, everything is good and it’s fun to watch videos on this screen on the go but don’t compare it with devices which are double the price.

Performance and Software

The Ulefone S10 Pro is another entry-level device which is powered by MediaTek MT6739 chipset. It is a 64-Bit Quad-Core chipset which isn’t very capable. The max clock frequency is 1.3 GHz and it works with PowerVR GE8100 responsible for handling the graphics department. Also, the device comes in only one configuration which includes 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, pretty mediocre.
You might have guessed it already that the performance is pretty weak. The chipset scores roughly 40K on ANTUTU which is very low for 2019 standard. However, using the Ulefone S10 Pro for day-to-day tasks will not be an issue as it can handle basic apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, Chrome easily without any lag. Although, if you are planning to play PUBG or any other heavy game, you will be disappointed as the chip isn’t capable of handling such intense apps.
In the software department, the Ulefone S10 pro comes with Android 8.1 Oreo which is neat. It comes with minor tweaks and minor bloatware. Most of the important Google apps come pre-installed and you can download any apps since you have access to the Google Play store. Some of the features which it includes are the Split screen which allows you to use two apps on the screen simultaneously, Face Unlock etc. Overall, the software experience is pretty neat but multitasking isn’t since the 2GB is low to do any justice. However, you can expand the storage up to 128GB using a MicroSD card.

Ulefone S10 Pro Camera and Battery Life

For capturing photos and recording videos, the Ulefone S10 Pro comes with two rear cameras which include one 16 Megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture and another 5 Megapixel sensor for f/2.4 aperture. Upfront, there is an 8 Megapixel selfie camera which also comes with beauty mode. All the basic camera features are there like Panorama, HDR, Portrait mode etc.
The images quality is pretty decent for the price only when the lighting is good. It can capture a good amount of details with vivid colors and decent dynamic range, although, it takes some time to lock the focus on the subject. Apart from that, the portrait mode shots are just average. The front camera can also capture good photos in daylight. However, the front and rear cameras fail when it comes to night time photography. The images contain heavy noise and there is no OIS to solve the issue. Overall the camera quality is considerable for the price only.
The Ulefone S10 Pro comes with a 3350 mAh battery which (I haven’t said this in a long time) is removable. Yeah, you can remove the back panel which gives you access to the battery which means you can remove the battery and slap in a new one anytime. Talking about the battery life, it pretty good providing around 5–6 hours of Screen-On-Time and lasting around a day or more depending on the usage. There is no Fast charging option available to keep the price low and no wireless charging either.
