Vernee is known for providing impressive smartphone at a considerably low price tag. Compared to other smartphones in their segment, Vernee's phone always have a significant feature to stand out from the crowd. Same goes for the Vernee Thor E as it packs a big 5020mAh battery. Let's get to the in-depth review of the Thor E.
Design and Build
Vernee Thor E looks nothing like a new generation smartphone. There is no glass back, 18: display, dual cameras or anything modern. However, Thor E is designed to play in a different league. The main focus here is the battery life. We will get back to it later in the review.
Thor E has a metal frame with a plastic back which looks like brushed aluminum. On a quick look, you will often mistake it with a Nexus 6P. Build quality is impressive as it weighs around 149 gm and has a thickness of 8.6mm, which is amazing considering the massive battery.

On the front, we have a regular size display, front camera, sensors and physical keys for navigation. On the back, we have a single primary camera with flash, a fingerprint scanner, and a single speaker. We have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and a Micro USB charging jack at the bottom of the device. On the right, we have the volume rocker and power button and on the left, we have a Hybrid SIM slot along with a special button known as the Endurance key which turns on the power saving mode. Overall it Vernee Thor E has a pretty impressive build quality considering the price.
Display
Vernee Thor E sports a 5-inch standard 16:9 IPS LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and pixel density of 265 PPI. It is a low-resolution display, however, the quality is more than expected. It produces sharp and saturated colors and is good for watching movies or playing games.

Viewing angles are good, however, tilting the device over 150 degrees and quality starts to degrade. But I guess no one holds their device at such an angle. There is no protection on the display you I recommend you to use a screen protector all the time. The display is not bright enough to be usable under direct sunlight. Apart from that, Vernee Thor E a decent display for the price on which you can actually enjoy videos and gaming.
Performance and Memory
Vernee Thor E is power by Octa-core MediaTek 6573 chipset which is clocked at 1.3 GHz along with ARM Mali T-720 GPU. The chipset is pretty old however, the performance is better than what I expected it to be. thor E was easily able to handle many heavy and demanding apps like Asphalt 8, Riptide GT etc. There were some minor frame drops but nothing serious which can ruin the gameplay.

The day-to-day performance for tasks like web browsing, WhatsApp, Facebook or other stuff is also great with few hiccups here and there. Multitasking is also fluid considering the 3 GB RAM. App switching is smooth and a good number of apps stays in the memory. The onboard storage which is 16 GB is pretty low. However, you can always use Micro SD card for further expansion up to 128GB. Wrapping it up, the overall performance is still better than what you can get on other phones in this segment.
Software
Vernee Thor E runs on the last generation Android 7.1 Nougat which is OK is almost all the devices in the segment runs on Nougat too. However, there are negligible chances for future Android updates so be prepared to use Nougat for a long time. the advantage with Thor E is that it runs on a near stock Android version which is not as smooth as Pixel device but performs better than many heavy android skins. Nougat also has some pretty decent features under its sleeves like-
Direct reply from notification
New animations
New setting app
Quick Switch
GIFs and much more
Overall the software experience is pretty impressive.
Camera
Vernee Thor E doesn't sport any dual camera system with a fake or dead lens. It has only one primary shooter which is an 8 Megapixel sensor. However, the quality of the images captured is actually impressive. The images have plenty details and saturation. The focus is ok but the overall quality is still better compared to the other smartphones in this same segment. But under dark lighting conditions, lots of noise creeps in the images making them unusable.

The front shooter is a 1.9 Megapixel sensor which captures decent images under ample light conditions while the same story continues under low light. The images quality considerably degrades in dark environment like indoors etc. Overall not the best camera but impressive for the price.
Battery
Vernee Thor E packs a massive 5020 mAh non-removable battery under the hood. However, there are some devices with a bigger battery than Thor E but at the end of the day, it is significantly bigger when compared to modern flagships. The battery life is really amazing. You can easily get more than 7+ hours of screen-on-time with heavy usage.
