I have a set of cookware, and I enjoy the good view of my kitchen with all the beautiful pans and skillets hangingbin order. However, while cooking, I always want a multifunctional pan. With such consideration, I started to look for a Chinese wok, as we all know Chinese are good at cooking and they usually cook all the dishes with only one wok.

Unboxing
This nonstick stir fry wok comes in a decent box with an image of the wok on the front and back. The highlights and the specification of the wok can be found on either side of the box.
As you may notice, most of the description on the box are in Chinese, which is the major problem for me. But facts speak louder than words, I’d rather value it by myself than take all the highlights for granted.
Alright, let’s have a closer look on this wok.
Features
1. Glass lid: This wok comes with a tempered glass lid. with the transparent lid, you can see the food transforming and the soup bubbling directly, which not only helps timing, but also whet the appetite.
2. Fashion design: The whole body is in brown while the interior is in black with diamond pattern at the bottom.
3. Perfect size: The size is perfect for family cooking. You can use it as a pan or a skillet, as it has a flat bottom with a straight edge, which is good for tossing ingredients.
4. Comfortable heat-proof handle: The glass lid has a heat-proof handle, which is ergonomically designed, comfortable and safe to use.
5. Nonstick coatings: Nonstick coatings effortlessly release even delicate foods, including eggs and pancakes. Because little or no oil is needed, nonstick pans are a good choice for low-fat or nonfat dishes. In addition, such coatings are very easy to clean even without chemical detergents.
6. Heat concentration bottom: The lines at the bottom helps concentrate the heat and the metal body transfer the heat to the food, which accelerate the cooking process.
7. Heat-resistant materials：The exterior is coated with heat-resistant materials which will help in maintaining the color through years cooking.
Design and Build
As shown before, the handle is made from silica gel, which is a kind of thermal insulation material. This reminds me of an embarrassing experience. I bought a stainless steel pan with a stainless steel handle from Wilko when I studied at Leeds, UK. As you can imagine, the handle became extremely hot when I was making potato omelet. I was astonished and almost burned my hand when I hold the handle directly. Suddenly, I realized that I need to wear a glove to use the pan. Then, I decided to return the pan and get a new one with thermal insulation material handle.
As a result, a heat-proof handle is definitely an recommended, especially for people who holds the pan while cooking.
Moreover, as you can see, it is much longer and bigger than other common handles of lids, which is designed to be stand aside rather than lie flat on the surface. Being kept up straight can minimize the dust on the lid. On the other hand, it is much convenient to handle the lid while cooking.
Performance test
As a non-stick wok, the key performance we are going to test is the stickiness.
However, before we go through the stickiness test, I would like to refer to American Cancer Society to explain whether it is safe to cook on PTEE pans, for some of you may concern it unhealthy.
According to the American Cancer Society, despite the possible risk of flu-like symptoms from breathing in fumes from an overheated Teflon-coated pan, there are no known risks to humans from using Teflon-coated cookware. While PFOA is used in making Teflon, it is not present (or is present in extremely small amounts) in Teflon-coated products. “Teflon” refers to the brand name for one of many nonstick coatings that include the chemical compound polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE.
As a result, as long as you use the nonstick pan properly, it is definitely safe. By saying this, I mean you should never overheat it for long time when empty.
