I’m sooo flattered to have the opportunity to review the Canon Ivy Mini this time!

THE GOOD:
Primarily targeted towards printing on the go from the Smartphone or tablet, Canon Ivy is a miniature photo printer that prints out 2”x3” photos from your smartphone or favorite social media platform. Photos can be customized by adding frames, emojis, stickers, filters, text, collages and more.

Running on a built-in rechargeable battery and using Bluetooth connectivity to pair with your iOS or Android device, it eliminates the need for cables except when charging and allows you to easily print pictures off a compatible phone or tablet.
The setup of the printer is very simple: the instructions are housed on one 2" x 3" card. Charge the printer, load the paper, and scan the QR code that leads directly to the free App Store download, and then connect via Bluetooth and you are set to go. Honestly, from unboxing to printing took no effort whatsoever. Anyone with a smartphone can do it blindfolded.

It charges and prints quickly: initial charge out of the box took me roughly 30 minutes and a complete recharge takes just over an hour; once set up, printing is fast at less than 30 seconds per photo. Apart from that, with the Canon Mini Print app, I can see the photo and add text or stickers, which helps saving a lot of wasted photo sheets.
Color printing without color ink. That’s the most amazing feature of this handheld, wireless, mini printer. Making use of ZINK Zero Ink printing technology, the IVY applies heat to different layers of dye that are already inside the film paper to form an image without any ink or toner involved. Due to the lack of ink, the paper is naturally smudge-proof and resistant to water damage. Besides, it features a peel-off adhesive backing so you can easily display your pictures.
THE BAD:
The printer does make quite a bit of mechanical noise as it prints. Actually, I was a bit surprised about this, considering how small the device is. The noise wasn’t very loud but it wasn’t quiet either.
The pictures look good but colors are a bit duller than the stored image. There are times when shades of contrast almost become non-existent. After the first photo printed, I incorporated the brightening function which helped.
